Doug Bush

Doug Bush joined the board in December 2016 and has been a part of the MVCA community since 2012. He and his wife, Kelly, are proud to have two children at MVCA and have enjoyed supporting the arts and experiencing God’s gifts in the MVCA children and staff.

Doug received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Long Beach State University, where he received the President’s award for Outstanding Engineering Graduate student. He has been working for Toyota Manufacturing since 1992 and has been responsible for constructing and starting up new manufacturing plants in Mexico, Texas, Mississippi, and Canada. He is currently the North American General Manager responsible for model changes and capital improvement projects at Toyota’s 20 North American Paint Lines. His family has been very supportive of work-related moves to San Diego, San Antonio, and Cincinnati.

Doug and his family are members of Kenwood Baptist Church, where Doug taught 5th and 6th grade Sunday School for 6 years. Doug and his family have had the opportunity to participate in family mission trips to a shanty-town in Costa Rica and to the hill tribe communities in Thailand. Doug’s passions include Mountain Biking and playing board games with his family.

grew up in Lima, Ohio. Following high school, she attended Northwestern Business College. In 1987, she joined the law firm of Wood & Lamping, LLP in Cincinnati.

Heather is in her 33rd year with Wood & Lamping where she is a Real Estate Paralegal specializing in commercial real estate and Small Business Administration lending. 
 
Heather has had a passion for Christian education for many years. Prior to her involvement at MVCA, she served as a board member at Fellowship Christian School. She joined the MVCA community in 1999. Her two youngest sons attended and graduated from MVCA.

Heather lives in the Eastgate area. She has four children and three grandchildren.

 

Tom Rhodenbaugh

Tom Rhodenbaugh, Past-President of the MVCA Board of Trustees, is a life-long resident of Cincinnati. After graduating from Indian Hill High School, he attended Miami University, obtaining a BS in Zoology and a MS in Finance. In 1983 he joined Kutol Products Company, a third-generation regional manufacturer of industrial soap. Working together with his brother Joe, Kutol has grown to a nationally recognized leader in the hand hygiene industry. The lessons learned in growing a small family business from less than 20 teammates to a national leader with over 200 teammates has provided invaluable lessons in leadership and sustainability.

Nick Ruotolo

Nick Ruotolo, current  Secretary of the Board of Trustees, joined the Board of Miami Valley Christian Academy in 2008 bringing, with him a wealth of knowledge and experience gained from a long and productive career with Procter & Gamble. Nick retired from P&G in 2012 after spending 40 years with this Fortune 500 Company. Nick spent nearly his entire career with P&G in Operational Sales Support holding a variety of cutting-edge positions that required forward thinking and the assimilation of emerging technologies.

A graduate of The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree, Nick spent eight years in the Army Reserves advancing to the rank of Captain before fulfilling his military commitment. At Procter & Gamble, he was often assigned leading roles in newly formed organizations which enabled him to hone his skills in systems and work processes. Additionally, as technology began emerging as an area of competitiveness, Nick positioned himself as a go-to person for technology integration of many newly developed systems. This provided the opportunity to travel internationally helping integrate these new technologies on a global scale.

Nick  has always been an active church attender and leader.  Over the years he has served in a variety of leadership capacities including Elder, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Capital Campaign Chairman, Adult ministries Lay Leader and Small Group Leader. Nick also served as a trainer for a number of years in the Evangelism Explosion Ministry. He has taught Bible Study for over 20 years and previously served as Board Member and lead trainer of Greater Impact Ministries, a Christian-based empowerment training ministry. Nick resides in Cincinnati and has been married for over 48 years to his lovely wife Vicki. They have three grown children and eight beautiful grandchildren three of whom attend MVCA.

 

Lou Schott

Lou Schott is a graduate of the University of Virginia and received his Doctor of Medicine from the Ohio State University. After a residency in ophthalmology, he joined the faculty of the University of Virginia as an Assistant Professor. He returned to Cincinnati in 1991 and is currently practicing as a member of Tri-State Centers for Sight. He also has an appointment at the University of Cincinnati as a Volunteer Assistant Professor where he has taught residents in ophthalmology for the past 20 years. Lou received the Resident Teaching Award in 2013 and has been selected among Cincinnati’s best physicians by both Cincinnati and Cincy Magazines.

 

Rob Seddon

Rob and his wife Alison joined the MVCA community in 2015 and have three young daughters at The Academy.

Rob received his bachelor’s degree in organizational behavior and marketing from Miami University in 1998 and received his master’s degree in theology from Xavier University in 2010. Rob is a commissioned pastor on staff at Crossroads Church and serves as Crossroads’ Director of Programming, where he oversees all of Crossroads’ teaching content.

Rob and his family reside in Anderson Township. Rob grew up in northern Ohio and is still a die-hard Browns fan.

 

Chris Wilson

Chris, and his wife, Emily, have been members of the MVCA community since 2010. They have two children, Andrew and Ella, that are respectively in the 7th and 5th grade.

Chris and his family attend Horizon Community Church. Chris received his bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University  and has been the owner of Midwestern Plumbing since 2007 and President of Andella Properties since 2013.

Chris’ passions include his construction company as well as coaching little league baseball.

 

Carla Wood

Carla Wood has been a member of the MVCA community since 2005 and on the MVCA Board since 2009. She also is the Chairman of the Spiritual Life Committee at MVCA. Carla graduated from the University of Cincinnati and is a Registered Nurse.

In 2008, Carla answered the call into ministry and is a dynamic leader in Women’s Ministry. In 2010, after the death of her father-in-law, she and her husband Chip assumed the helm May We Help, a non-profit founded by Chip’s father to assist people with severe disabilities to have access to their passions. This charity, staffed by a crew of engineers and designers, creates customized devices for people with specific needs at no cost.

Carla has a passion for children to reach their destiny in Christ and to gain the knowledge and understanding that will prepare them to live a life of excellence. She firmly believes a strong academic and spiritual foundation is the key to success and is committed to the journey at MVCA to see that reality made available to every family possible.
