The philosophy of  500 Internal Server Error

is based upon scripture that tells us “Children are a gift from the Lord. They are a true blessing” (Psalm 127:3). We partner with families who are seeking an educational experience that encourages social, intellectual, physical, and spiritual growth.

Experience

Children learn in an environment that is safe, nurturing, and stimulating. Going beyond Ohio’s Early Learning Content Standards, Biblical truths are integrated in everyday lessons, relationships, and activities to help develop each child (cognitive, social, physical, emotional, creative and spiritual)

Classes

Classes are available five days a week. Parents may choose to enroll their child in the two day, three day, or all five day class. Full day options include afternoon enrichment classes

Enrichment Programs are designed to supplement the curriculum and allow for more indepth exposure and hands-on discovery. They are two hours in length and include lunch time (with a sack lunch from home). Extended Day Programs include a short nap period and play time.

Morning Care

Morning care is available as a free service and begins at 7:30.

Curriculum

We educate the whole child and recognize these years are some of the most formative in a child’s life. The curriculum offers each student a broad learning experience that forms a foundation for ongoing learning.

The following is a sampling of the curriculum.

Math

Children learn to appreciate the orderliness of God’s world through the study of mathematics (problem-solving, manipulation, sorting, counting and grouping)

Bible

Simple truths give meaning to the early development of children and teach Christian character. The importance of God caring for us, God as our Heavenly Father and Creator, and God’s love for us, are cornerstones of the course of study. Bible memory, prayer, and worship help develop an understanding of our relationship with God.

Language Arts

Reading, writing, listening, speaking, and thinking skills are foundations for all learning. Included are activities for developing oral language and listening skills, games and ideas for reading readiness, and writing skills.

Science

Science is best when it is experienced and explored. Children observe nature and appreciate God’s creation as they study science. Basic principles of observation, recording, predicting, experimenting, and concluding are practiced.

Social Studies

Children are curious about their communities. Through a Christian worldview, children explore and discover communities and the world at large. Children have a variety of experiences to understand their value as God’s children and realize how the importance of their actions and decisions impact their peers.

Art

Children learn to be creative. While creating, attention is given to fine motor skills, following directions and care of materials. Art is coordinated with other subject areas.

Differentiated Learning

The fact is that we all learn differently. Differentiated Instruction (also known as differentiated learning or, in education, simply, differentiation) is a framework or philosophy for effective teaching that involves providing different students with different avenues to learning (often in the same classroom) in terms of: acquiring content; processing, constructing, or making sense of ideas; and developing teaching materials and assessment measures so that all students within a classroom can learn effectively, regardless of differences in ability.

At MVCA, the teacher proactively plans and carries out varied approaches to content, process, and product in anticipation of, and response to, student differences in readiness, interest, and learning needs.
