Middle School Creative Communications

This fun and dynamic course is a blend of speech and drama, and play production. Students will learn the elements of drama, gain confidence in presenting in front of their peers, and aspects of play production through activities and working on MVCA school productions. Speech topics will require only minimal research. Students will also gain skills for successful auditioning at MVCA school productions and beyond. One Semester.

(Pre-requisite Drama I)-Designed for the student with a passion for acting, this performance-based course will give opportunities for intense exploration of various acting methods, mediums, techniques for improving personal performance, and removal of actor tics. Learning to look critically at performances will bring an awareness of refinement to the student’s own work. (1 credit) *under special circumstances, this course may be taken as a semester course for .5 credit.

Summer Drama Camp

For one week in the summer, students entering grades 3 through 9 are welcome to participate in our Summer Drama Camp. Open to all area students (including homeschoolers and those from other area schools), Drama Camp is a great time for students to meet new friends while they audition, learn and perform a musical – all in one week’s time!

Annual Drama Trip

MVCA Drama students take an annual drama trip.  New York City is this year’s destination with plans for Broadway shows, a workshop, and sightseeing.

Drama joined Cappies in 2014. We have a full card of 9 student critics who attend 5 High School shows each year throughout Cincinnati. Cappies also brings student critics from other area schools to see and critique MVCA productions. #pursingexcellence
